It's an interesting topic but I guess not many gentlemen will reply to you. They're rather passive....especially

This is an interesting question, I don't think males 35 or above are passive? Do you? This could indeed an interesting local social behavioural discussion. Any and all comments welcome!

Heard these statistics on TV. In 2008, there are 368 million female and 329 male in Hong Kong. That comes to 1,000 to 896 ratio between Female and Male. However for ages between 20 and 39, the ratio is F 881 to M 1,000.

Nurse, teacher, office clerk are the top jobs where women have most difficult to meet guys. Work schedule / lack of free time is the number one reason for not able to keep a relationship.

The Report doesn't say where the men are. I do see a lot of guys on basketball, tennis, badminton courts after work and on weekends. The search continue....

I think the survey should no longer be restricted only to Hong Kong areas as there are a lot more people travelling between Hong Kong and China. Perhaps a the survey area should be stretched to residents within an hour's travel time to Hong Kong from China. Should paint a much better picture.

You can find lots of them packed in the pubs during the world cup! No shortage of them whatsoever.

I think it would be quite interesting and helpful with replies and comments here if you guys can make some singles events in the circle. I'm sure guys wanna meet girls and vice-versa.

No doubt beamstyle. We will once we get a larger membership-base - On the other hand, please, there is nothing stopping the members from starting events as well. That is the purpose of FindLegs. If you think of something, just create an event. If you need support, please do not hesitate to ask us for help. Either we start the event or the members start the event it all accomplishes the same outcomes.

Dear Guys,

This is an interesting question which have been asking from my gal friends & myself many many times. Where are the men? I would love to see the answers coming back.

I attended an event about Startup (mostly high-tech) companies on Sat. There are few hundred people, 90%+ guys. Checkout the photos.

yeah, i can vouch for the 90%+ ratio of guys at the saturday event. of course, i could bring up the comment larry summers made about women and sciences, but then i'd probably get a lot of flaming responses.

any chance someone could translate and summarize the initial post above? i can't really read chinese.

Guys, this thread embodies the reason why we have created a circle here. Thanks for participating! We really want to foster some kind of discussion and then perhaps move it into an event or an activity.

hkblee: Where did you or your friends meet your/their boyfriends in the past? I think guys would definitely like to know (and please join our meet singles circle or let your friends know - we would love to get different viewpoints on this).

simony/atanhehco: Actually the event had quite a high turn out of females already imho. I used to go to engineering conferences of 200-300 and there would be about 10 females.

atanhehco: The passage above basically asks where are men aged 35-50 in Hong Kong? Have they gone to China, are they playing sports, watching TV at home, or surfing the internet? Basically there doesn't seem to be too many around in HK.

Hi dfung,

My fiends & I met our ex when we were in uni, churchs, friends circles or work place. Personally I dun think it's a good idea 2 date yr colleague.

But most of my friends found that it's getting harder 2 meet with single & available guys in churches, sports group eg badminton or tennis & interest classes such as language classes, photography.

The groups are either only too few guys or guys already in relationship.
