Don't miss this rare showcase of New York City Ballet talent on film:
NY Export: Opus Jazz is a dance film showcasing members of the New York City Ballet dancing in the urban landscape of New York City exuding grace, tensile strength and attitude. It takes Jerome Robbins’ 1958 formal, abstract “ballet in sneakers” and re-imagines it for today’s generation — maintaining the kinds of movements, complexities of rhythms and atmospheric qualities found in 50s dance. Awarded the Audience Award at the 2010 South by Southwest Film Festival, it was also nominated for the Rose d’Or Award.
A 30-minute post-screening talk will give audiences an opportunity to meet with co-producer Sean Suozzi who is also a soloist of New York City Ballet.
